Cloud Paintings

The paintings shown here were completed during 2017-18. I became engaged by the marvelous heaps of cloud that seemed to dominate the skies above the Island for many weeks early that year. I showed several at my Open Studio event in July 2017 and later at the Yarmouth Gallery. Since then I have picked up on the theme again.

In the cloud series of paintings I have used water miscible oils and a cold wax medium to achieve a dry, textured surface on fine canvas

CumulusNimbus, SconceCorner Cloud shadows pass across the bay, and rain threatens from the North. Sand Hard beach to Yarmouth Harbour and the town beyond.
