Undercliff Wilderness

The wooded clifftops of the Island's South Coast are slipping away into the sea, creating transient wild-woods and lost meadows alive with birds and abundant growth. This mixed media painting is based on drawings made in autumn on the stretch of abandoned land beyond St. Lawrence where the road has collapsed. A place of magic where nature seems to have loosed itself from the strictures of human need and dances only to the heartbeat of primordial time.

This painting is now hanging in Yarmouth Gallery.
